2022-2023 Officer Applications
The application will be evaluated to help select the officers that will compose the Seven Lakes FBLA officer team. Please complete the application and submit by no later than Sunday, March 27th at 11:59 P.M.
Applications for president and executive vice president will be due Friday, the 25th at 11:59 P.M.
We will send out interview time slots through email.
Speeches will be given April 5th at the April Meeting.
Positions and Responsibilities 2022-2023
Below is a list of available positions and their responsibilities. Please consider these before applying.
Presidents (2) - Study Hall
-
Communicates regularly with the adviser(s).
-
Preside over and conduct meetings.
-
Works with the chapter advisers, to coordinate and oversee all projects throughout the year to ensure their success.
-
Coordinates, delegates, and monitors the other officers during all chapter activities
-
Helps to create and review the program of work.
-
Will delegate tasks to the other officers to maintain structure and organization within FBLA.
-
Represents the chapter at special school events, civic clubs, and other out-of-school organizations.
-
May not participate in PACE—must be available on campus at all times.
-
Works to increase recruitment throughout the year.
-
Prepare recruitment brochures, flyers and/or posters, and membership applications.
-
Sees that membership increases or remains constant each year. (This is required so that our chapter may receive the National Outstanding Chapter Award.)

Create weekly agendas for officer meetings
-
Register chapter for state and national recognition
-
Utilize Remind to inform members about upcoming events
Executive Vice President (1) - Study Hall
-
Assists the president with any necessary tasks upon request.
-
Will preside at meetings in the absence of the president.
-
Will assist with all fundraising activities/treasurer duties.
-
Will assist with all committee work, such as Community Service
-
Keep accurate records of demerits earned by the officer team.
-
Organize workers for the FBLA booth at Spartan Spectacular/Fish Camp/8th Grade Night
-
Sends out emails about announcements/reminders
-
Help Freshmen ambassadors understand the various duties officer positions have.

Answers questions about points from students
-
Must see that point values are updated on a regular basis for every member of FBLA throughout the year. These need to be updated and posted on the bulletin board monthly for students to check.

Create room and bus assignments for state and nationals
-
Registers all members on the national website
Vice President of Membership - Study Hall
-
Works to increase recruitment throughout the year.
-
Prepare recruitment brochures, flyers and/or posters, and membership applications.

Creates a tri-fold presentation for use at Fish Camp, Spartan Spectacular, etc. (Historian will assist)
-
Sees that membership increases or remains constant each year. (This is required so that our chapter may receive the National Outstanding Chapter Award.)

Types a list in Excel or Access of all members and their application information.

Registers all members on the national website
Vice President of Community Service & Fundraising (2) - Study Hall
-
Plans and executes all fundraising for the school year.
-
Execute a fundraising event to raise money for the chapter
-
Plan and execute a community service event (more than one is preferable)
-
Identify effective methods of raising money for an organization in need
-
Compete in the Community Service Project chapter event.
-
Work closely with the Vice President of socials to plan out socials
-
Identify methods of incorporating the chapter in the Community Service Project
-
Raise awareness for an organization in need
Vice President of Socials (1) - No Study Hall
-
Plans and executes all social projects for the school year, including but not limited to: The Winter Social, Spring Social, and the End of the Year Banquet/Installation Dinner.

Involves: Planning, buying materials with P.O. order, call and book venues (if social is outside of school)
-
Needs transportation
-
Promote socials (Be excited/enthusiastic!)

Assist with Community Service Projects
Secretary (1) - No Study Hall
-
Take notes at officer meetings and send to those who could not attend
-
Prepares news releases and/or articles for publication in school and local newspapers and in state and national FBLA-PBL publications that highlight Seven Lakes High School FBLA’s successes throughout the year. All articles must have prior approval from the adviser before submission.

Prepares SLAM Cast announcements after competitions
-
Assists with the planning and arranging of chapter exhibits/booths.

Aid Executive Vice President in maintaining chapter members’ points
Reporter-Historian (1) - No Study Hall
-
File pictures forms for competition (check everyone has turned in picture forms before district competition)
-
Maintaining and regularly updating the FBLA bulletin boards. (If a calendar is on the bulletin board, it must be updated before the first of every month. Forms must be updated after every meeting.)

Assist the VP of Membership with a tri-fold presentation for recruitment
-
Prepares a slide show presentation for the end-of-the-year banquet.

Take pictures at all FBLA events
-
You will be taught to edit the FBLA wixsite.

Put reminders on bulletin board before every meeting
-
Posts on social media (info and events)
Parliamentarian (1) - No Study Hall

Maintain chapter correspondence by writing appropriate letters such as thank you letters
-
Responsible for helping with registration:
-
Contestants for fall workshop, district, state, and nationals competitions
-
Registration sign ups before and after school
-

Types up a list of winners from competitions and prepares an article to go out to the faculty
-
Creates a tri-fold presentation for use at Fish Camp, Spartan Spectacular, etc. (Historian will assist)

Scans in members at meetings

Competition study materials
-
Check books in and out
-
Answer competition information from students that take the tests

ALL OFFICERS MUST COMMIT TO
-
Being in the office every Monday afternoon for an officer meeting from 2:45-3:20
-
What is not finished will be due by Thursday
-
You will be assigned a day and you are responsible for helping before (7:00 – 7:20) and after school (2:40 – 3:00 or until you are finished)
-
You will be on a two week rotation, so you will work one day (morning and afternoon) every two weeks
-
Several times during the year (ex. District and state registration) you will be needed on more days
-
Checking emails daily and willing to answer emails from members.
-
Having your email on the agenda monthly and outside of the business door, so members may contact you.
-
Staying in contact with sponsors regarding assignments and prep for meetings
-
Attending all general meetings and FBLA sponsored socials
-
Recruiting friends and classmates into FBLA at the start of the year
-
Finding someone to fill in when unable to fulfill the obligations of your office
-
Completing all tasks and/or miscellaneous duties, assigned as necessary by the adviser(s).

Attending, setting up, and working at Spartan Spectacular

Attending and setting up at Fish Camp

Helping out at 8th grade parent night

Aiding advisors with needed paperwork and anything asked of you
